We made our annual trip to the local pumpkin patch and it was so much fun. Both kids went crazy right when we arrived and Ryan and I loved watching them. Rose immediately started running around and picking up every pumpkin (or trying to) and telling us how heavy they were. Oliver, of course, had never seen anything like that before so he had to bend down and touch each one and taste a few. Since the theme of Oliver’s birthday party was pumpkins, we loaded up a wagon full of them to bring home, and I’m pretty sure that was the most amazing thing ever for Rose.
When we left Ryan commented that it’s always so peaceful there…and he’s totally right. Even with our kids running around like maniacs, it’s so peaceful. I could easily spend an entire day there, but you know, lunch time has to happen. And naps definitely have to happen. It was such a sweet morning though. I already can’t wait to go back next year!
We had a little birthday party for Oliver, too! It was precious. As I mentioned before, the theme was pumpkins, so it was super fallish and easy to put together. The bigger kids that came painted tiny pumpkins and looked adorable doing it. Oliver loved his cupcake…actually, he loved the icing. He spit every bite of cake out. He got tons of great gifts and was the center of attention for the day. It was perfect. We also made a quick trip to Dallas to celebrate Meredith’s baby boy that will be here in December! It was a fantastic trip, and it was so, so good to spend a little time with friends. The shower was so cute and so was Meredith. That baby is so loved already.
Is anyone else in denial that it’s almost Halloween??? I’m excited. I love this season.
