New York!

We went to New York last week for spring break and it was awesome. It may take a few posts to cover all of it, so if you’re not at all interested, I’m sorry. Also, get ready for a picture overload.

Image First of all, the plane ride there was rough. In this picture, Rose is laying on the floor fussing. She pretty much looked like this the whole way.

ImageIt was SO COLD! We had to bundle up and layer tons of clothes on this girl before we could step out of the hotel. She was happy outside though, so I guess it worked!

ImageImageImageWe saw so many friends. It was great to catch up with everyone and introduce Rose to all of them. Her favorite person was our friends little boy, Donovan. He was born right before we moved, and now look at him! He was such a little gentleman and Rose loved playing with him and sharing food with him. ImageScreen Shot 2013-03-18 at 10.39.57 AMRose got to ride the subway! She wasn’t too impressed. Actually, she didn’t really like it. Anytime she had to sit still she was not happy. It was still fun to see her experience the performers and crowds in the train though.

ImageOf course, we did a lot of shopping. Rose loves shopping if I let her hold clothes on hangers and walk around a little. She made a few messes and liked hiding in racks of clothes. I’m sure the employees of every store we went in hated us, but oh well!

ImageWe got to have dinner with one of my first and most wonderful students of all time. She was in my class when she was just 3 years old, and now she is 9! They were so sweet to take a cab during rush hour all the way to midtown just to see us for a little while. It was one of the highlights of our week, for sure.

ImageWe ate way too much. And it was always interesting because most places don’t have high chairs. Rose loved sitting at the table, but Ryan and I became increasingly thankful for our high chair. (I only included this picture because it is the only one of just the three of us that we got.)

Several times a day (and especially at the end of every day), this is what Rose looked like. The city wore her out. Before we got there, I was a little nervous about the napping/sleeping situation, but she did such a great job. When she got tired, she just closed her little eyes and went to sleep wherever we were. It made the trip so much easier. Also, isn’t that bottom lip so adorable???

I took Rose to do several fun, kid-friendly things while we were there…so I’ll save those for other posts. Get ready!!
